IWATA "Four Seasons in Japan Photo Contest" Results Announced: A Collection of Wonderful Works Capturing the Passage of Seasons

Introducing the winning entries of the photo contest, which ran from December 20, 2024, to February 2, 2025. We selected 11 pieces with the desire to "pass on the Japan that allows us to enjoy the changing seasons to future generations."

In addition to the theme of "Japan's Four Seasons," our selection process emphasized how deeply the photographer's own heart was moved by the subject.

A photograph isn't just about capturing a beautiful scene; it resonates more strongly with viewers when it conveys the emotion of the photographer who was present at that moment. The selected works all captured the breath of life in their subjects and a sense of the flow of time. We chose pieces that allowed us to feel the link between the seasonal transitions and the activities of life in our daily routines through the photographs.

The Grand Prize winner captured a fleeting moment in time beautifully, conveying the very atmosphere and humidity of the scene. It possessed a warmth that imbued it with life, and I felt it resonated with the "comfort of living materials" inherent in IWATA's bedding.
