IWATA Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture; President: Yuji Iwata) received the "2024 Kyoto Prefecture Environmental Conservation Award - Environmental Top Runner Category" at the "Kyoto Environmental Festival 2025" (organized by the Kyoto Environmental Festival Executive Committee), held on Saturday, February 1st, at the Kyoto Prefectural Exhibition Hall (Kyoto Pulse Plaza).
Reasons for the Award
Our company promotes "circular design," which creates new products and services through the circulation of resources, while reducing resource consumption and waste generation at each stage of "making," "using," and "disposing." Furthermore, we have been involved in environmental conservation activities for many years, utilizing our strength in bringing out the characteristics of natural materials and creating products that are both environmentally friendly and consumer-friendly.
These initiatives were recognized as "original, pioneering, or advanced efforts for environmental conservation and creation, which have had a significant impact on improving the local environment and on the environmentally conscious behavior of prefectural residents," and the company was awarded in recognition of its potential for further contributions.

What is the Kyoto Prefectural Environmental Conservation Award?
The Kyoto Prefectural Environmental Conservation Award is held annually with the aim of promoting environmental conservation and raising awareness by honoring individuals and organizations who have made outstanding contributions to environmental conservation.
There are four award categories: "Environmental Conservation Category," "Administrative Cooperation Category," "Environmental Top Runner Category," and "Kyoto Water Management Category."
The Environmental Top Runner Category targets: ① individuals or organizations with outstanding achievements in original environmental conservation activities, and ② organizations or businesses that have made original, pioneering, or advanced efforts for environmental conservation and creation, and have had a significant impact on improving the local environment and on the environmentally conscious behavior of prefectural residents.
At the awards ceremony held on Saturday, February 1st, 4 businesses were honored in the Environmental Top Runner category, 1 individual in the Kyoto Water Management category, 4 individuals, 4 organizations, and 1 business in the Environmental Conservation category, and 6 individuals in the Administrative Cooperation category.
